National Nursing Home Week – Kickoff Parade

Today Signature HealthCare of Greeneville hosted a parade of community nursing, and assisted living facilities.  Residents from each facility participated in the event waving and smiling to townsfolk as they paraded towards the county courthouse square.  Residents and staff filled the square with their brightly colored balloons.  Lee Elliott, Administrator for Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville, provided some opening remarks, and Signature’s Chaplain Andy Van Arsdale provided a prayer of blessing and thanks.  Greeneville’s mayor, and the county Mayor also spoke recognizing the value and importance of a community taking care of its elders.  After the formalities, balloons held by Elders and staff from the representative facilities were released creating a beautiful scene of color and moment against a bright blue sky.

For Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville, today’s parade kicks off a week long celebration of all those things that bring joy and meaning to the lives of our Residents.  We will truly be living the “Aloha Spirit” this week as we join our Elders in celebrating this week of joy and fun.
