Great Place to Work
Vacationing on the Beach
The residents celebrated Memorial Day week basking on the sandy beaches of Myrtle Beach. While visiting, they had the opportunity to visit a few popular attractions such as Mike’s Crab Shack, The Legend of the Stars, Medieval Times Dinner & Show and shopping on the boardwalk. Their beach experience was memorable for it was the first vacation for some. Many conversations followed on our way home regarding their favorite show and attraction. The elders at Signature Healthcare of Greeneville can’t wait to start planning our next adventure.
National Nursing Home Week
National Nursing Home Week: Signature HealthCARE of Greenville, TN took part in a fabulous parade, sifted for gold treasures, took part in some great arts and crafts in the beautiful sunshine and certainly enjoyed dancing to the beat during their event.
The Golden Egg Hunt
On Friday, April 14, 2017, Signature HealthCARE hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for the children and grandchildren of residents, stakeholders and families in the Greeneville Community. What an amazing time the residents had watching the children run around looking for that one Golden Egg! This event was made successful with the continuing support of the families, staff and volunteers. Our hearts were filled with joy as the residents expressed their gratitude for inviting their children and grandchildren to their home and making it a unforgettable memory that will be etched in their hearts forever.
Mardi Gras
For the Mardi Gras celebration this year, we had an excellent turn out! With all the mystery and suspense, people were even waiting outside the door. Purple, green, and gold filled the air, balloons were up, the doors were open, and the party began! We had noisemakers all around. We commenced the face painting while people entered for those residents that felt extra adventurous and wanted something a little more unique and a part of them than a mask with feathers. We had tiny gold, green, and purple hats for those who wanted a sophisticated party look. We even had a whole table of ladies wearing hats to get in the spirit. Beads were a must! We crafted personalized bead necklaces that morning so people wore those and came back to the party. Then we had all colors of beads spread around tables with the various noisemakers and favors.
We stayed true to tradition; the whole room was practically purple, gold, and green. Even our dip with chips and dip needed to be green and purple! The cake was amazing and festive. It even had its own feather mask. While everyone was served refreshments, jazz and big band music reverberated throughout the dining room for all to enjoy.
The noisemakers were going, the music was hopping, the drinks were flowing, the beads were slinging, the feather boa’s were twirling, and everyone enjoyed themselves!
A Winter’s Dream
“The Eden Alternative philosophy asserts that no matter how old we are or what challenges we live with, life is about continuing to grow. Building on this new paradigm, it affirms that care is not a one-way street, but rather a collaborative partnership.”
On February 2, 2017, SHC of Greeneville hosted a Winter’s Dream Masquerade Ball. The elders in the community were eager to host a formal event where we could get all dressed up, eat, and dance. They worked diligently on crafting masks, creating decorations, and engaging the help from stakeholders. I experienced such laughter and pure joy as I watched the elders and stakeholders get their hair done, get their nails manicured, and get dressed up in formal gowns and suits.
Veteran’s Day Celebration
STRENGTH AND DEDICATION–UNITED STATES VETERANS
How do you say thank you to the men and women who fought for freedom, who risked not just their life, but their time, purpose, and even heir hopes and dreams in order to fulfill a mission, a spiritual call to defend the fruits of a nation built on the tenets of for, by and of the people?
We are those people who you protected, fought for, and in some cases, for whom your comrades gave their life. And in this explosive world of healthcare, we find ourselves energized and in full admiration of your heroic efforts, both in preparation and in battle. You symbolize what it takes to be tough, to endure, to understand that the foxhole is a place to replenish, to protect, to strategize, and defend, and the battle line is the place to fight. We think about all the emotions it must have taken, the self-discipline, the inner strength to overcome doubt, the courage to step out in battle, the decision to strike down the enemy, and the ability to trust the plan.
